Alverno College: Sustaining & Healing Through Music

The Power of Music in Healing and Remembrance
Join us for an inspiring evening that explores how music carries the power to heal, sustain, and connect across generations.
Associate Professor Leslie Henry, Director of Music Therapy at Alverno College, will lead a moving discussion on how music supported Holocaust orchestra members—helping them cope, endure, and process profound human emotions.
The evening will also feature:
- Musical selections from the Milwaukee Jewish Community Chorale, performed before and after the lecture.
- A special performance on one of the historic Violins of Hope, played by Alverno violin faculty member Marvin Suson.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the power of music as both remembrance and renewal.
Location: Alverno Commons in Alverno College Conference Center located at 3400 S. 43rd Street. For people with mobility issues, please drop off in the Alverno College Conference Center circle drive and park in the campus parking structure.
