SUMMARY:Fall Masterworks "Violins of Hope"
DESCRIPTION:Music has the power to tell stories that words alone cannot express. Join the Racine Symphony Orchestra for a profound and moving performance featuring Violins of Hope: Wisconsin\, presented by Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra — a collection of instruments once played by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust. Restored and brought back to life\, these violins now serve as powerful symbols of remembrance and unity. \nThis special evening will feature Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances No. 3 and Max Richter’s evocative The Four Seasons Recomposed\, performed by violin soloist Alexander Mandl. These works bridge past and present\, honoring the voices of history while inspiring hope for the future. \nThe Violins of Hope initiative extends far beyond the stage\, inviting communities to reflect on the lessons of the past and engage in meaningful conversations about the power of music to heal and transform. We invite you to be part of this unforgettable experience. \nThis event is sponsored in part by the Racine Community Foundation\, SC Johnson Foundation\, UPAF\, Wisconsin Arts Board\, and the RAMAC Foundation. \nTicket prices are $45. \nGET TICKETS AND LEARN MORE

SUMMARY:Unity & Hope
DESCRIPTION:Unity & Hope brings together a powerful work of music and meaning. \nThe program features Moses in Nederland by Michael Kropf\, with violinist Sabrina Tabby. This concerto for violin soloist and orchestra is named for Kropf’s great-grandfather\, Moses Schenkein\, a European Jew living in Holland who was forced to lead his family on a dangerous and miraculous journey to escape the Holocaust. An amateur violinist and composer\, Schenkein left behind a folder of short melodic works — including settings of Hebrew and Yiddish poetry\, violin music\, and a number of tangos. As both a composer and violinist\, Kropf felt a deep kinship with his great-grandfather\, and each movement of the concerto draws from one of these inherited melodies. \nPerformances are presented in partnership with Violins of Hope: Wisconsin\, presented by Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. \nSingle tickets are $23. \nGET TICKETS
