Exhibit
Violins of Hope
Strings of Jewish Resistance and Resilience
Run Dates: November 5, 2025 – January 25, 2026
Location: Jewish Museum Milwaukee, 1360 N. Prospect Ave.
Description:
At the heart of Violins of Hope – Wisconsin, presented by Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO), is a collection of restored string instruments played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. Each violin carries a story, bearing witness to atrocity in the face of adversity and honoring those who turned to music for solace and survival. Featuring 24 of the rescued violins, the exhibit both educates about the lessons of the Holocaust and explores the current landscape of antisemitism while celebrating Jewish culture, contributions, identity, and resilience.
