Violins of Hope-Wisconsin

The Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) and Violins of Hope-Wisconsin are weaving a tapestry of understanding through the power of art, conversation, and experience.

At a time of rising antisemitism and other forms of hate in Wisconsin, the lessons that the violins and their stories teach are profoundly relevant for today.

That is why MYSO is working with a broad spectrum of community, arts, and cultural groups, as well as schools, universities, and faith-based organizations, on the project.

The residency will connect people from all walks of life – honoring the voices of the past, enlightening the present, and inspiring the future.

We are bringing the community a once-in-a-lifetime experience - to hear the stories of instruments owned and played by Jewish musicians and others targeted by the Nazis before and during the Holocaust, through educational and cultural programs and exhibits - to foster understanding.

We invite you to join us for this residency from September 2025 through January 2026.
